Academic Growth and Personal Fulfilment

Queen’s College is proud of the community environment into which we welcome our international students. Each year, Queen’s successfully prepares each individual for the next step in education with high standards of academic achievement and pastoral support which is second to none.

Students are supported academically by being placed into appropriate classes in line with English and mathematical ability. A full curriculum of subjects is available, with lessons and enrichment activities every day of the week.

The social activities which take place at Queen’s are fully inclusive and, as Queen’s is situated on one campus, there is full immersion into all activities, friends are made for life and integration is carefully supported by caring and experienced house staff. We are proud that our international students are hugely successful in all areas of school life, from debating and the arts to competing on the sports field. At Queen’s we are one family and students are encouraged to try new experiences and get involved. Our EAL and academic teams provide the highest standard of education for students with English as their first or second language. Such a high level of expertise and support ensures an all-round education for all students.

The tutorial system ensures individual understanding and care, and encourages students to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Such high-quality support leads to GCSE successes in one year for up to eight subjects, or an appropriate preparation for Sixth Form study of the International Baccalaureate. Small class sizes support this success and ensure an individually tailored approach. All students are supported to undertake study of English for academic study in line with ability, taking IELTS at the end of the academic year.

We continuously stive to be one of the finest schools in Somerset and the UK, providing all the facilities required to help our international students to exceed their goals with us.
