I loved being a boarder at Queen's. The support I had was great, from the house parents, teachers, tutors and of course my friends who seem to have come from different parts of the world. Being far from home, I learned how to be independent and confident in making my own decisions and there is so much Queen's has to offer to prepare you well ready for the real working world. There are always activities you can participate in so will never get bored!

Changing schools is always hard, it is even harder if you are a foreign student. I came to Queen’s to finish my A levels. When I arrived I felt welcome and comfortable straight away. All the staff were willing to help me settle into the school community. Also, when I could not understand something in lessons, all teachers explained everything to me in a friendly and calm manner. If I have an opportunity I will send my children to Queen’s as the standard of education there is truly unique, as well as the enormous amount of help they give to foreign students.

I joined Queen’s College Sixth Form in 2008. I cannot praise enough the students and staff at Queen’s, who made me feel very welcome and looked after me from day one. Although the study material may have been somewhat difficult at first, especially due to my limited command of English at the time, the teachers often tried to make lessons more interactive and dynamic so that foreign students could understand better. In Year 13 I was appointed as the School Prefect, the position that majorly developed my leadership abilities and has really helped me in applying to university and beyond.

I had invaluable help with my UCAS Personal Statement which enabled me to get all five university offers, including the ones from UCL, LSE and Durham. Queen’s did an excellent job at preparing me for the road ahead, so the transition to university was really smooth.
