A variety of courses are available to international students. Short courses specialising in English for academic study are available in the summer holiday for both individuals and closed groups. This is the ideal preparation for that first step into studying in the British education system. There is also the option to undertake a term of study, with immersion into full-time education supported by a superb EAL (English as an Additional Language) team. Our Junior international team welcome children from 7–11 years including EAL supported study. All Junior international pupils are welcomed into the Junior boarding environment and attend school with their relevant Junior year group. Junior international study at Queen’s offers a solid foundation for Senior education in a supportive family environment.
In the Senior School, the pathway to university education commences. Students are welcome to join Queen’s Senior School from the age of 11 years. Between the ages of 11 and 13 years, students are immersed into the Queen's culture and its learning environment. From 13 years, GCSE preparation commences with the Pre GCSE course. There is the option of an intensive one-year GCSE course or the two-year GCSE course. There is also the option of the one-year IB Diploma preparation course (including study skills, essay writing techniques and theory of knowledge), beneficial for those students wishing to study the International Baccalaureate at Sixth Form.
At Sixth Form level, students can chose to study a two-year A Level course or pursue an access course for a UK university foundation degree. Queen’s College also offers support in finding the right placement for the next step into higher education, university degree and career planning.
