Guardians

Any child whose parents live overseas must have an appointed guardian in the UK, within easy reach of the school.

We are unable to recommend guardians to parents as the contract is between the parents and the guardian. However, if you would like a copy of our list of guardians who have experience looking after Queen’s College children, please click here.

A guardian will act on the parent’s behalf and must be able to:

  • Accommodate the pupil during half term
  • Collect and accommodate the child during term time should they become ill and are likely to be off school for more than three days
  • Arrange transport to and from the airport at the beginning and end of terms if the child is not travelling on school transport
  • Make travel arrangements for a pupil travelling overseas if this is not done by parents
  • Represent the school and be available for the school to contact in an emergency
  • Consult with parents about the booking of coach, rail and air tickets as these are not arranged by the school
