Queen's College is a very open school and we really value our close contact with parents and enjoy getting to know families on a day to day basis. Parents are welcome to see the children's work, to see what is on display and the class teachers are happy to see parents informally at any mutually convenient time.
Regular Parents' Evenings on an appointment system are held towards the end of each term and parents are also invited to extra curriculum meetings on specific topics such as Literacy or Mathematics. Written reports are distributed at the end of the Autumn and Summer terms for Key Stage 1, and at the end of the Summer Term for Reception and Nursery. Nursery also hold regular parents drop in evenings where parents can look through their child’s photograph album and discuss their individual developmental profiles.
Teacher assessment, both formal and observational, forms the basis for discussion with parents at the end of Key Stage 1 before the child progresses into the Junior School.
