We all really enjoy making the curriculum come alive. Taking our children out on trips to visit interesting places and explore their local environment as well as arranging for specialists to come into school, helps make Queen’s an interesting and vibrant place to learn.
Recent visitors and events have included Ranger Russ who discussed the wonderful topic of Mini Beasts, the Pied Piper Theatre Company’s theatrical production of My Big Little Sister, World Book Day where everyone dressed up as their favourite characters, Cultural Day where we learned about French and Japanese cultures and a road safey talk.
We have also explored the Seaquarium at Weston, visited Wookey Hole and participated in activities at Exmoor Owl and Hawk Centre as part of our topic work. To see some pictures and write-ups about some of our trips and visits, please see our Live News.
Children in the Pre-Prep and Nursery are also fortunate to be able to benefit from other events within the school. These include joining in with sports days, school fayres, Grandparents’ Day, religious services and watching plays and music concerts. Trips out and about to places such as the garden centre, Forest School, and lighthouses all enhance the learning experience.
