Queen’s College Nursery Moves to Central Location Within The School

Queen’s College in Taunton is delighted to announce the completion of a significant refurbishment of its Pre-Prep and Nursery buildings over the summer holidays. The renovation included new flooring, updated décor, a new bathroom and utility space, a covered outdoor play area and a brand-new dining room.

The Nursery, previously located in the Highgrove building, has now moved to a more central location within the Pre-Prep building. This move was designed to facilitate greater integration between Nursery and Pre-Prep children, ensuring a smoother transition and fostering a stronger sense of community within the school. The space also provides a dedicated changing and sleeping area for the nursery children.

Henry Matthews, Head of Prep at Queen’s College, commented: “We are thrilled to have our Nursery in a more central part of the school. This development will not only provide our youngest pupils with a wonderful environment but will also enable them to be more connected with the rest of the school community from the very first steps in their Queen’s journey.”

At Queen’s College, the early years are seen as a crucial foundation for lifelong learning. The Nursery and Pre-Prep are designed to nurture each child’s curiosity and development in a warm, supportive environment. With a focus on individual care and tailored learning, the school provides the perfect setting for children to begin their educational journey, fostering confidence, creativity, and a love of learning from the very start. In 2023 the Good Schools Guide visited the Prep School and informed readers that “This is a kind and gentle place to start school with a very warm, family atmosphere”.

There is still time to register to attend the Prep School open event on 4 October 2024.
