MUN season continued last week with the annual trip to the Bath International Schools’ MUN which was an exciting and enriching experience for everyone involved. In total, Queen’s represented 4 countries, including Russia, and all delegations had a great time engaging in discussions on a variety of pressing global issues. Topics debated this year included international security in relation to the Ukraine/Russia conflict, environmental issues such as biodiversity, technological advancements with cryptocurrencies, and the rights of women.
Throughout the conference, the pupils had the opportunity to meet delegates from various schools, share and collaborate on ideas, and build connections. The Queen’s delegates performed exceptionally well, with several individuals earning recognition for their outstanding contributions. Iven and Theo were both commended delegates—Iven for his work in the Security Council and Theo for his contributions in the Science and Technology Committee. Evie S also earned a commendation for her role in the Human Rights Committee.
A special highlight was Nelly’s award for Best Young Delegate. This recognition, given to the best delegate from Year 11 and below, was particularly meaningful for Nelly, who has progressed each year since her debut as a Year 8 student. It was a testament to her growth and dedication to MUN.
