Performing Arts Festival Week 2024

Performing Arts Festival Week 2024

For the second year, this half term has concluded with the spectacular Performing Arts Festival, beginning with the West End Work. Mr Trafford retains strong connections with the entertainment industry and invited contacts from the West End casts of ‘Hairspray’ and ‘Hamilton’, along with a leading member of the Royal Shakespeare Company to offer amazing insights and career tips to Queen’s students.

Hopefully, some of those tips were put into practice during the incredible House Dance and Drama competitions on Wednesday evening! Over 130 senior students took part in hugely entertaining scenes and truly awe-inspiring dances, all responding to the theme: BURIED TREASURE. The range of talent and fantastic technique on display was genuinely stunning on an evening with a massively happy and supportive atmosphere! But this was not just a display of great acting and dancing; House D ance and Drama showed what fantastic teamwork can achieve and revealed the great leadership skills of our House Captains, Jack, Mollie, Clare and Spencer, supported by their team of choreographers.

On Thursday it was the Poetry Recital, with another great response from all the Houses. There were impressive and surprising performances from Year 7 all the way up to Year 13.
