Nursery
It has been a busy and exciting time in the nursery. The children have been making and giving Mother’s Day gifts and cards, as well as engaging in a wide range of activities across both rooms.
In Cottontails, the children have been enjoying the book Bigger Digger and participating in various digger-themed activities, such as digging in the sand and washing diggers in the water tray. They have also had fun exploring Hutton Lawn, kicking balls, sliding down the slope, and taking in the fresh air. Indoors, Cottontails have enjoyed a variety of sensory experiences and action songs like Sticky Kids, which have kept them engaged and active.
In Puddleducks, the focus has been on ‘Families.’ With fantastic support from parents, a book filled with family photos has been created, sparking conversations and encouraging children to share their own stories. The children have also enjoyed exploring the college grounds, with a walk to the field and a tractor sighting proving to be a highlight.
Both Cottontails and Puddleducks were thrilled to support Mr Matthews’ Easter Charity Day, raising funds for Aspire. They had a wonderful time running alongside Mr Matthews on the lower field, enjoying the fresh air and contributing to a great cause.
Minis
The Queen’s Minis have had an incredibly busy and exciting end to their term! They’ve been exploring the College campus, including a special visit to the Medical Centre, where they had a guided tour, measured and weighed themselves, and even practiced applying plasters and bandages to Queen’s teddies! The children were also thrilled to visit the Queen’s Hall, where they saw the beautifully dressed stage for the Nemo show and had the wonderful opportunity to watch a performance.
The children’s daily phonics lessons have been a big highlight, they have now confidently mastered the Set One sounds. With Easter just around the corner, they’ve been enjoying themed activities, including an Easter egg hunt during their Outdoor Ed lesson.
Another exciting treat for the children was a special Easter morning break at the Wyvern Roost Café, where they sipped on hot chocolate and chose from a delicious selection of cakes. The Queen’s Minis were delighted to support Mr Matthews’ Easter Charity Day, raising funds for Aspire. They had a fantastic time racing Mr Matthews on the lower field and joining the Prep School’s Easter Lucky Dip!
