Sixth Form student Fallon has been offered a place to study at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, a prestigious conservatoire in Cardiff, for next year.
In the future, Fallon hopes to work in schools or with youth choirs. She says she will always have the Queen’s music department to thank for inspiring her to dream big.
“I have chosen to study a BMus in Music with a specialism in vocal performance. This means an incredible amount to me as I have studied music from the age of four and as they only accept 20 people onto the course each year. At Queen’s, I study A level Music, Drama and English Literature. Alongside this, I also learn singing, violin and piano with some excellent peripatetic music teachers Queen’s has to offer.
Queen’s has definitely aided my musical journey so far and has given me a firm foundation to hopefully kick start a career in music; the trips, masterclasses, concerts, lessons and advice the music department has offered me have inspired me tremendous amounts to further my musical knowledge as well as reigniting my passion for the subject I love most.
I have to say a massive thank you to Mr Jenkins (Director of Music) and Miss Wills (Assistant Director) for not only aiding me in my A-level studies but for the support they gave when working towards gaining a place at the Conservatoire. Without their support, and generally just believing in me, I genuinely believe I would not have been able to obtain a place.”
